SailSki’s latest EP, Echoes of Mount Mansfield, captures the serene weight of landscape and memory in motion.
Across three tracks rooted in melodic groove and atmospheric texture, the release draws you into a space where rhythm moves like wind across water, subtle, intentional, and endlessly replayable.
About the Artist
Carlos Alberto Serrano, known in the music world as SailSki, brings a composer’s ear and a filmmaker’s sense of pacing to his hybrid blend of chill house and ambient electronic music.
With formal training in film scoring and concert music — including degrees from Northern Vermont University, the Vermont College of Fine Arts, and Berklee College of Music, his identity is steeped in storytelling.

SailSki’s music is not just shaped by theory, but by geography. Whether skiing Vermont’s Mount Mansfield or sailing the quiet breadth of Lake Champlain, his connection to nature and movement informs every composition.
It’s music born from motion, yet designed for stillness, crafted with both atmospheric depth and rhythmic precision. His original scores have earned over 100 awards at international film festivals, with more than 10 credits on IMDb. As SailSki, he translates that cinematic sensitivity into immersive electronic soundscapes.
EP Review
The EP finds its place within the evolving framework of chill house and ambient electronic, echoing the organic textures and melodic clarity of contemporary labels like Anjunadeep or Berlin’s deep chill scene. Each sound is given space to resonate, revealing a thoughtful balance between restraint and motion.
Echoes of Mount Mansfield feels equally at home in a late-night wind-down as it does in a slow drive through open countryside. It’s music you can sit with, music that listens back.
SailSki’s hybrid workspace brings together high-end analog gear and a modern digital environment, not just for pristine sound quality, but for fluidity in expression. From the warmth of stereo ribbon mics to the precision of custom-programmed synths like Falcon 3 and Massive X, every tool serves a purpose. The workflow that spans Logic Pro, Pro Tools Ultimate, and an ultra-wide visual array, helps spport a methodical yet intuitive process.
For playlist curation, the EP belongs in spaces like Spotify’s “Beach House | Pool and Summer Vibes” or ChillYourMind’s “Chill House 2025.” But it also deserves a more solitary setting, headphones, dusk, a long breath.
SailSki’s cinematic roots are present in the pacing, the dynamic control, the wide-open sense of space. But what lingers is the feeling, a stillness that moves, a calm that carries weight. Like standing on Mount Mansfield itself, this EP doesn’t need to speak loudly. It simply echoes.
